Traveling During a Pandemic - Staycation All I Ever Wanted

Much like the Go Go’s I to want a vacation but turns out staying local is where it’s at…especially these days!

Local Stay’s are a great way to keep the traveling simplified and safe. New protocols are put into place allowing additional time in between guests and of course additional sanitizing efforts. Plus, many are running great deals and offers to help make a little getaway affordable.

Before the holidays got into full swing we ventured to a little place called Smith Beach. It was up close and personal with nature. It was quiet and it was a perfect place to make memories that would make a year that has tried us feel like a a year that is also a gift.

Cape Charles is just an hour away from us and it created the perfect scene for us to snuggle, cuddle and do some running wild (which turns out was desperately needed - by ALL OF US). We had homemade chicken noodle soup, delicious french toast casserole and we loved one another - including our precious pup. The spot that was perfect for this long memory making weekend was a little yellow cottage that stole our hearts.

Driving up to the cottage it is in a quiet neighborhood that you enter upon after going through archways of trees - so beautiful. As we came through the trees and around the bend to eventually meet this adorable cottage - my heart grew three times. The sunroom off the side of the cottage is the most dreamy spot to enjoy coffee and bird watch. While it was chilly - we wrapped up in blankets and sweatshirts and we were good to go.

This two bedroom beachfront dream is equipped with an adorable kitchen and is pet friendly. We love traveling with our dog, Malak and she absolutely loved the cottage, the yard and the beach. If you are looking for a little escape that can sleep up to 6, then the Eastern Shore maybe calling your name and the Smith Beach Cottage maybe the perfect spot for you and your’s to make some fantastic memories. Put the pain and the heartache of this past year on hold and make some new, beautiful memories because if this year has taught me anything - it’s that those I’m with and the time we have, it is most precious to me and for me everything. I’m going to spend the rest of my life living to appreciate them and this life we have.

Eastern Shore and Cape Charles is a place surrounded with beauty. You will enjoy beautiful sunsets out back and in town there are restaurants open with safe dining protocols. Get away, make some memories and find out why Smith Beach and the little yellow cottage is the best place to get renewed and remember life is so precious.

Happy memory making to you and your’s. xo
